Almost Grandma’s Boston Baked Beans

Easter, Christmas Eve and summer picnics would have been severely lacking without my grandmother’s special baked beans. She would start the night before with dried beans and let them slow cook in the oven all night long. They were great! Unfortunately, they were definitely a think ahead kind of dish which didn’t really fit into my busy modern schedule. Therefore, I have recreated her final product using canned baked beans, some fresh ingredients and less time.

Preheat oven to 350

Combine all ingredients in ceramic or crock baking dish. Bake 2 to 2 ½ hours. Let stand 20 minutes before serving. Beans will re-absorb liquid to create a thick type sauce.
